Community Programs

Wilderness Torah provides daylong experiences for synagogues and other communities that bring Judaism alive in nature. Through guided wilderness-walks, family-relevant games, and exploration of Jewish texts and themes, our mentors help you understand the intrinsic relationship between Judaism and nature, feel the season and the beauty of nature, and have a meaningful family experience outside.
Wilderness Torah takes Day School classes (Grades 5-7) on Jewish wilderness journeys near the Bay Area. These three- and four-day camping immersions promote class bonding and individual growth, develop comfort with and connection to nature, and teach wilderness skills and natural history, all through the lens of Jewish tradition and its intrinsic relationship to the natural world.

All of the feedback I’ve gotten from people who attended the synagogue Family Day has been positive! Your staff was really fantastic, very well prepared, and the program was well-executed. I’m really looking forward to working with Wilderness Torah again.
